Mencari tenant

Panjang prosesnya nak mencari tenant. Kebetulan existing tenant nak keluar pulak lepas dah dua tahun menetap di situ. More towards, timing la tak berapa best. Sbb nak pergi ke UK dah, pastu time ni pulak tenant nak keluar. Anyhow, takpela. Redha dengan ketentuan Allah SWT. Kena masuk balik la budget utk byr rumah tu. Hmm...but at the same time, gotta pray hard yang ada tenant nak masuk dlm masa yang terdekat ni. InsyaaAllah.

Syukur Alhamdulillah...this time around, ramai sungguh yang belanja makan before I fly to UK to pursue my MBA. Lejekiiii...:-)

Lunch on 29 August at Chilli's with MFR. Dia ni la salah seorang manusia yang tegur time mula-mula masuk K dulu. Very friendly but at the same time, u can talk about reality of life. How to sustain, about career plan, etc.

Breakfast with Naja yang dah setahun tak jumpa on 28 August 2016. Ya rabbi, budak sorang ni, gilerkan IKEA la sungguh-sungguh. Everytime dia balik ke KL, wajib visit IKEA. Oh yea, dia jaga rumah anak yatim di Perak. Noble sangat kan? Kalau u all nak contribute to kebajikan rumah anak-anak yatim tu, let me know. Nanti I give you the account number.

Lunch at Aleeya and Azri's house on 27 August 2016. They all nak menunaikan haji. So, sekali la berjumpa dengan geng TTH aka geng kahwin muda. Vogue2 dorang nih semua. Kayo-kayo tapi giler-giler masing-masing tau. hhahahahha...Semua by the age of 20+, belum reach 30 dah ada 3 anak dan anak-anak kami semuanya lebih kurang sebaya.

Lunch on 26 August 2016 di Meisan, Quality Hotel dengan geng CSS. We all tak sama division, tapi selalu berjumpa di surau, sana sini. Baik-baik semuanya, rajin berborak and tanya khabar. Yang sorang kakak ni, anak-anak dia dah besar. Dulu pernah kami duduk berborak sama, she told me about some challenges that she faced time bebaru kahwin. And ramai pun share similar experience. So, I bet, semua orang akan go through. Ye la, some ups and downs. Allah SWT nak uji melalui memcm cara.

Lunch di Little Penang, KLCC with Zarina on 24 August 2016. She gave me a pen - with my name engraved on it.

Thanks for the advices, the words of encouragement, the time spent, the moments, the friendship. Thank you so much. Semoga Allah SWT membalasnya dengan sebaik-baik kebaikan buat anda semua...

It is YOUR life.

Have faith in Allah SWT. He is ALWAYS a better planner in whatever circumstances. He knows best.

Think about all the positive aspects. Think about all the good things in life.

There's no one who has dealt with the challenges you've faced, overcome the obstacles you've survived, learned the lessons you've learned and been given the opportunities that you now have. You do have an important mission that includes goals to achieve and problems to solve. But you also have gifts, wisdom and compassion to share. And the great thing about your mission and your sharing is that they go hand in hand. The timing couldn't be better.

Mama dan Roselle

Mama's latest project - Roselle.

From plant to Roselle jam for breakfast (reminds me of Masha and the Bear. Hehehhee...)

Hebat mama. If it was me - either jual or sewa tanah tu, put the money elsewhere. Beli jam kat supermarket je. Hahahah...(teruk betul anak dia ni).

Kaya and sirap kat rumah pun usually mama buat sendiri.

Kalau today, H1 said...GM (oh, they call my mum GM - stands for GrandMa), H1 nak minum sirap la. Mama will say, ala...dah habis la. Nanti GM buat. Esoknya, confirm dah siap. She will call and inform - sirap untuk H1 dah siap. 

Hari tu pun, she cooked ayam masak lemak cili api and anaknya ni di kala tengah lapar pula tu. Then, she called - H1 suka makan gulai ayam ni, nanti jgn lupa amik kat rumah. :-) or mama dah penuhkan fridge, tadi ma pergi Giant. Nanti H2 nak snack...

Ahhhh...sooo gonna miss her, her bebelan, her nice dishes. And most importantly, her advice - jangan lupa solat. Zaman jahiliyah dulu, pukul 3 pgi baru nak tidur lepas bergayut on the phone. Bukak pintu, mama tgh solat tahajud/hajat/taubat/baca quran kat luar. And I can remember that clearly. Gotta practice that more often so that my kids would learn to practice that as well.

Semoga mama dapat keberkatan sentiasa dan mendapat syurga yang tertinggi. Love you ma...

Sekolah anak-anak di Sheffield

On 3 August 2016, I browsed through Sheffield City Council punya website. Nak find info about school admission. Dah pernah baca berjuta kali last time, tapi tak initiate the process for admission yet. So, bila dah sign je tenancy agreement hari tu, walaupun belum finalized, I proceed jugak dgn request for details of admission kat website City Council. Tak kira la time tu, proceed je. In case lambat kang, lagi leceh kan? So, on the same day, the emailed back and gave me the form as well. You can choose up to 3 schools and give reasons why you wanna send your kid to that school. The nearest 2 schools from our house adalah sekolah Christian, so I chose all 3 yang relevant sahaja. I ignored sekolah-sekolah Christian tu. Cemane nak tahu? Ala, tgk nama pun dah tahu. Ataupun dia tulis Independent School. Tgk la details kat website dia. Sana, memang semua sekolah ada website sendiri. So, kena la buat extra research before you land on any decision kan?

Alhamdulillah, on 17 August 2016 hari tu dah dapat school allocation for H1. Exactly 2 weeks time. Ni jugak la salah satu benefits bila dah sign tenancy agreement. Senang je.

Tapi, tak dapat la sekolah yang I wanted. And they even choose additional 2 schools yang relevant for me. All 3 tak dapat sebab kelas dah penuh. Sana, dorang particular betul when it comes to teacher: pupil ratio. Same like H1 and H2's current school. For that matter, as a parent, I am really happy. Takde la nanti penuh tak pasal-pasal dalam kelas anak kita kan? And dalam surat tu, dia bgtau sekolah mana yang dia dah consider and alasan untuk reject those schools.

Cuma, challenge nye adalah, sekolah tu agak jauh drpd rumah. About 4km+. Kalau kat KL, 4km tu pejam mata jela. Terlalu dekat tu. Tapi tu cerita ada kete wei....ini cerita nak handle kanak2 tu pepagi semua. Hmm....we shall see la cemane outcome nye.

So, memula tu ingat nak appeal. Tapi, bila fikir balik and tgk website dia...eh, menarik pulak sekolah ni. I like I like. Even better than our 1st choice. So, I take it as Allah SWT dah allocate, be happy and treasure jela. Kalau rasa tak sesuai, appeal later la. Lagi pun, appeal tu dorg hanya akan buat townhall in October. So, nanti jela kot kalau nak appeal pun. Bila dah sampai sana. Or at least lepas the school dah reopen and they would reply my email.

Regardless, syukur Alhamdulillah, Dia permudahkan.

And di antara point yang penting adalah - dapat menepis pemahaman yang bila dah sampai sana baru boleh register sekolah anak. That is so NOT true.

Yang ni pulak contoh for H2. The moment we all decided to go to this uni (actually one of the reasons of selecting this uni in the first place pun), terus we contacted the nursery. We wanted to save a spot for H2. Yela, sebab nanti lagi lambat, lagi la susah nak dpt slot kan? 6 July - we were on waiting list. Then 22 July - diorang dah allocate a slot. Syukur Alhamdulillah. Ni pun salah satu proses yang sangat mudah. Yela, tak perlu go through City Council, but at least if the process has been initiated. So all in all, I would say that tanggapan yang kena pergi sana baru boleh nak settle sekolah anak adalah tidak benar. So long as you have the required documentation and has initiated the process, insyaaAllah, takde issue. We used to work backwards, in terms of timing. So, Alhamdulillah, segalanya ok.

Bantuan daripada student Malaysia di Sheffield

Ingat tak my cerita pasal airport transfer dulu? Hmm...tu back up plan la kalau student Malaysia tak sana tak free ke nak amikkan we all kat airport, or ada any hiccups ke ape ke. Tapi tu la...Allah SWT nak permudahkan semlm, we received a whatsapp msg from the person in charge over there that there will be someone yang free, boleh tolong pick us up at the airport. Syukur Alhamdulillah.

GBP80 mereka charge. Hmm...ok la, for an MPV Renault. Bersyukur seadanya. Kalau guna Chauffeur from Manchester Airport, I dah estimate kat website dia semlm, kami kena charge GBP128 la lebih kurang. Oh well, penjimatan GBP50 tu besar maknanya. Boleh penuh tray kat Tesco dengan barang2 dapur tau. Syukur syukur.

Update on 30.08.2016 - menurut kata the person in-charge, selepas diorang dah check details semua balik, rupanya kereta orang yang nak amik tu mcm tak muat pulak with the number of bags that we are bringing. Hmm...takpela. Bersangka baik jela. Dia ada suggest Sheffield punya airport transfer, tengok kat website, ikut no of pax. Basically 5-7 pax = GBP90. Private taxi from airport pun GBP139+. Eh, mcm guna Chauffeur lagi murah je. Entah la. Tengok la dulu.

Pastu, I asked about broadband from the main person in charge tu. Ok ke kalau nak book from here pastu, by the time we all sampai nanti, dorang dah boleh dtg terus install. Kat sana, amik masa jugak nak install broadband. Sampai 2-3 weeks kadang. Kesian la hubby and anak2. Internet takde, tv xde. Kang nak settle stuffs pun byk buat online. If takde, memang leceh la. Macam rermai orang lain, pergi sana baru nak uruskan semua ni. For me, semua ni kena sedia dulu before sampai sana. *kiasu* hahahaha...whatever~! Asalkan segalanya selesa dan baik utk my family, then it is good enough.

Broadband kat sana - what they need:

1) Address rumah - alhamdulillah, tenancy agreement dah siap. Haaa...ni la benefit nye bila tenancy agreement dah siap. Boleh buat macam2. Nak register sekolah anak ke, broadband ke. activities ke, semua nak address rumah. Pastu, boleh jugak guna address rumah utk check connection kat tempat tiinggal kita. Whether service provider ni cover ke tak area tu? Kalau yes, apa je service yang boleh di offer to us, for that area? So, yes I'm glad that I took the action to search for the house first. And of course la, call students Malaysia kat sana. Call, talk, discuss, ask many many many questions and get the detailed answer.

2) Hp no kat sana - boleh guna my sis punya yang kat Scotland.

3) Bank acc kat sana - boleh guna my sis punya. Later baru kita tukar semua ni. Diorang ni, kat UK, byk mende yang memerlukan acc bank sebab bills semuanya guna direct debit. Sebab tu dia perlukan bank acc no kita.

So, today nak firm up kan which service provider that we wanna choose. Oh yea, lepas borak-borak dengan the person in charge kat Sheffield tu, skali dia tanya....u all dah ada tv ke? Sebab dia ada tv 32 inch yang belum bukak from box. Entah pasal apa la reason dia beli, malas nak tanya. Tanak create situation yang tak best pulak. Perhaps he has his own valid reasons to it. Anyway, we negotiated, we got it for GBP160 32 inch LED TV brand LG. Alhamdulillah. So, segalanya dah settle. Rumah host kat sana pun dia dah tolong arrangekan, ala...nak duduk beberapa jam je sebelum office agent tu bukak, for key collection. :)

Update on 30.08.2016 - TV tu, Mr P kata mcm kecik sangat pulak. He wanted a slightly bigger tv. Macam-macam... :) Tengok la cemana. Nanti baru nak decide. Pastu, pasal host, we all ni ada la berkenalan dgn student yang akan join MBA class skali. Terlupa pulak yang dia dah ada di sana. Hahahhaha...so, she offered us to stay at her house. Siap she said, insyaaAllah if dia jadi beli kereta etc, then boleh la husband dia teman pergi amikkan kunci. Alhamdulillah.

Thank you Allah SWT kerana mempermudahkan segala urusan kami.

My sisters

Kami dapat keluar kejap je, sebab lunch time kan terhad masanya. Then, yang sorang nak balik ke Scotland dah hujung minggu tu. Then, kebetulan hari Rabunya, yang my elder sis dtg Malaysia kejap but balik ke Singapore malam tu jugak. Yang sorang lagi memang kerja di Malaysia. Then, I'm going to England pulak next month.

Kami tak la close mana. Tapi, stock kutuk mengutuk, terasa etc dlm whatsapp group tu memang almost everyday la. Muahahahha....But, I'm so grateful that I have them as my sisters. They always support (in addition to mengutuk) me, they did provide advices (yang kadang-kadang rasa menjatuhkan jugak). Tapi, Allah SWT kurniakan mereka in my life to help me, to guide me, utk membuatkan life mereka best jugak sebab ada bahan yang boleh dikutukkan/digelakkan selalu juga (read: ME!). Hahahhaha...Pastu, di antara topic wajib kami selalunya, adalah about losing weight. Haaaa...nampak tak size masing-masing yang kiut itu....?? :)

Alhamdulillah, thanks Allah SWT mengurniakan mereka ni in my life. Pegi makan tu pun, ala-ala awkward gak sebenarnya. Sebab jarang sgt kami berkumpul hanya berempat + papa mama and the kids takde. This is soooooo rare. Tapi, sempat gak la borak-borak, kutuk-kutuk each other jap, mengisi perut. 

Time nak amik gamba ni...

My sis: Dik, yang awak dok bakar ikan tu, berdiri depan tu je pun dah panas dah.

Then, we all gelak ramai-ramai walaupun agak annoyed. Hahhahah...

The mothers group

We all ni memula kenal kat kids punya sekolah.  Start dengan senyum-senyum kat each other. Pastu hari-hari nampak dorang hantar, yang jumpa kat class ballet la, yang jumpa satu kelas la...I'm so glad that I met these people. Most of them jenis banyak duit, stylo mylo but langsung tak sombong. Siap gile2 lagi, ada la. Ada yang sexy, ada yang berjubah, ada yang bawak kete beso, umah beso, segalanya la, tapi....solat terjaga, anak-anak bijak pandai, hormat org, bubbly, etc. Yang bestnya, bila dengar the kids ckp english, fluent + laju. Comellll sangat....

Syiok bila duduk dengan dorang ni. Syukur Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT pertemukan kami semua. So, last weekend we had a birthday celebration at one of them punya condo. Ya rabbi, cantik sgt view dia. Macam duduk kat resort.

Lepas tu, lepak dengan dorg ni, makan, borak, makan, borak. Kids pulak, makan, main, masuk pool, makan, main, masuk pool. Hasilnya, dah dua hari ni, memasing down with fever. Hamek ko! 5 jam berendam, tetgh panas terik kot....haaa...sukati la. They had fun, we did too. Kengkwn H1 and H2 semua nak pergi big school dah. Masing-masing dah settle dengan farewell kat sekolah ni. Kebetulan semua lebih kurang sebaya, nak masuk nursery/reception kat big school da. Then, kebetulan kami nak ke UK jugak. So, semua baru lepas farewell week la hari tu. Tu yang bila jumpa kejap, diorang happy sangat.

H1 cerita semlm...kononnya time weekend tu la catch up together-gether. Cerita pasal Iqra dah sampai mana, cerita pasal toys, cerita pasal itu ini, dengan episod dlm pool la. hape la. Seronok semua. Glad that our paths crossed, glad to have you guys as friends.

Mr P pun seronok. Boleh pulak, H2 dah withdraw from his school kan...so he said, ala...sedih la I. Then I asked, why? He said, takde la...tak sempat I nak amik gamba dgn Ms L (H2's teacher). Sabo jela tau...tapi memang cikgu dia hot pun. Yang sorg lagi, dengan tatoo skali, very stylo and nice to the kids. Whatever la Mr P oiii....asalkan anda bahagia and jujur kat depan.

Alhamdulillah for these great friends and I'm so glad that my kids are befriended with these kind of people punya kiddos (fussy mummy uh? hahhaha...whatever! Untuk kebaikan my kids gak). I'm sure if you have a choice, you would somehow choose your own way of living and the people that your kids interact with, befriended with kan? I do hope that insyaaAllah one day when we come back to Malaysia, we are given the chance to send the kids to a good school, similar to where they sent their kids. How we are gonna do that? I don't know. All I can do now is to pray and pray for that to come true. Well, similar to the situation before we sent H1 to her current preschool - we never thought that we would be able to do that. But Alhamdulillah, dream, pray, tawakal and Allah SWT permudahkan. Nak kata mampu sangat, Alhamdulillah, ok la. Tak la takde langsung. But Allah SWT akan permudahkan if you pray hard.
